Information Drilldown
Welcome to this sample application showing dynamic "Information
Drilldown". The Information Drilldown is a technique which can be used to
make information accessable via a web browser. The complexities of
extracting the data and visualizing it are hidden from the viewer, who
is instead presented with an easy to navigate visual interface to the
underlying information.
Each image in this example is generated "on demand" by
the Gsharp Web Edition. Furthermore, the images are "mapped" images
containing active areas that can be selected, allowing the viewer to
"drilldown" to the next level of detail.
Try this example out for yourself and see how information drilldown
from a web application can be used to simplify data access.
Building Dynamic Webpages with Gsharp
Building dynamic visualization webpages is easy
with the Gsharp Web Edition. Gsharp is used to create a GSL (Gsharp
Script Language) template which serves as a CGI (Common Gateway
Interface) program. The template creates both the graph image and the
HTML. Gsharp enables the outline of each graphical object to be
queried. The resulting polygons are used to dynamically create an HTML
image map along with the image. This makes the drilldown dynamic and
allows unlimited repetition of the drilldown process.
