Four main categories are available in the navigation bar at the top of every page at all times. The currently selected category is delimited by two vertical red bars. Underneath the category bar are a number of selectable sections, pertinent to the selected category. The current section is highlighted in red text.
Each category provides an overview of what can be found there. That information is summarized here: General Information This category contains general information about the IAC and its activities. Use this section to find out the latest news, and search the list of Frequently Asked Questions. You can also find our gallery of images and movies, presenting the work of AVS users from around the globe. Also check out the online Gsharp Web Edition User Guide and example applications, accessible from the gallery page. The links section lists a number of releated resources, relevant to the visualization community. If your connection to the UK is quite slow, you can also try one of the IAC mirror sites to access the repositories. Finally, a link is provided to the AVS Product Release information page. Under the latest news section, you will also find information about the new AVS/Express Multi-Pipe Rendering project. Repositories As the main role of the IAC is to provide the public domain repositories for the AVS5 and AVS/Express products, the various downloadable modules and projects are conveniently arranged into various catalogue listings. The Repositories category, provides a guide to help you download and integrate any AVS5 module or AVS/Express project. For AVS/Express users, more detailed information is provided for the required Project Files. Similarly, if you wish to submit any modules or projects to the IAC, a guide is available. For AVS/Express users, more detailed information is provided in the Project Organization Guidelines, to help users organize their code to be more effective and consistent. The modules and projects themselves can be found under the AVS5 and AVS/Express sections. In there you will also find an additional navigation bar, providing access to the various catalogues. AVS5 modules are separated into five types, namely Input, Filters, Mappers, Output and Miscellaneous. AVS/Express projects are similarly categorized as Data IO, Filters, Mappers, Miscellaneous and Special Projects. In addition AVS/Express projects are also listed alphabetically and by Project Number (which generally relates to the release date). User Group The IAC supports the activities of various AVS User Groups located worldwide. The IAC also maintains the IAC User Group; a list of users which have registered with the IAC. In the User Group category, you will find information about registering with the mailing list, the USENET AVS newsgroup, and articles from the on-line Network News magazine. Training Materials A collection of training materials is available from the IAC, and other resources. Look in the Training Materials category to find both AVS5 and AVS/Express specific courses, covering basic introductions, up to advanced module writing for AVS/Express. | ||||
