This guide offers instruction on how to download and integrate either AVS5
modules or AVS/Express projects. Downloading AVS5 modules or AVS/Express projects
is fairly simple, however integrating them with the desired system is different
for each product. A more detailed version of this guide is availlable in the DownloadGuide.pdf
AVS5 Modules Downloading can be achieved by browsing the catalogue in the AVS5 Repository, and simply clicking on the required files. Once a desired module has been selected, download the C or Fortran files found within the directory, along with any instructional text files and sample network files. Then select an appropriate Makefile for your system (UNIX only). Place these files in appropriate directory, and then perform a make command. This should result with the generation of the executable module, which may be added in the usual manner (refer to AVS5 documentation.) AVS/Express Projects Downloading can be achieved by browsing the catalogue in the AVS/Express Repository, and simply clicking on a single archive file. Once a desired project has been selected, download the archive file linked from the catalogue listing. Projects can be downloaded as either a tar.gz, tar.Z or zip format.
To integrate the archived project into an existing AVS/Express user project, carefully read the instructions presented here. Before any AVS/Express projects can be integrated, some required base files should be downloaded and setup first. These files, known as the IAC Project Files allow easy integration of any number of AVS/Express projects. The IAC Project Files can be downloaded as either a tar.gz, tar.Z or zip format. Follow the link here, or select the IAC Project Files button at the top of this page in the navigation bar, to gain an understanding of what the project files are, how they should be setup initially, and how they are used in the future.
When the IAC Project Files have been setup (once for each user derived project - refer to the AVS/Express documentation), users may download any of the AVS/Express projects in the repository and add them at any time. Download a project archive:
